Marciana Marina, Elba

Last night we slept at anchor under a splendid starry sky. This morning, after a swim and a few chapters in the hammock we crossed the bay to Marciano Marina.
I had called ahead and they said they were full, but as we had to pass anyway we thought we would stick our bow in a try our luck. They slotted us straight into the lineup along the yacht club pontoon.
You can see why the Italians holiday on Elba ( It's also a favourite of the Germans apparently). The vibe was italian seaside tourism at its best, unpretentious, clean, warm and slow. It was simply lovely.
I'm sorry to leave Elba behind tomorrow. There is nothing shiny about Elba, but thats what gives it a glint.
